My life changing journey to Kemet (Egypt)

Ret to jet!

Picture this: meeting a group of 17 strangers at JKF airport before hopping on a 10.5 hr flight to Cairo, Egypt. Yes, we were all going to get certified in Kemetic Yoga - but this would be my first international flight, thus my furthest trip from home. I had no idea what to expect but I was hopeful that all of the yogis would be as chill as me - or as I like to think I am.

It was laughs from the very beginning. Never could I have imagined such an a an amazing and gifted group of people all coming together, with the same common goal - to heal themselves and others using the re-discovered techniques of our ancestors. We laughed until we cried, spent hours talking about life and business, danced and sang together, and taught each other. We even had to stand up for each other a few times 💪 - like when some overzealous locals decided to keep taking pictures of us without permission 😂.

As we traveled across Egypt - from Cairo to Luxor to the Nubian village of Aswan - visiting temples, tombs, museums, and sailing the Nile, we meditated and strengthened our practices together. My time in Kemet with these people was life changing.

We left as a family and I continue to be inspired by them to this day.
